We look forward to welcoming you for a semester at the Wedel University of Applied Sciences and in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. You can apply for an exchange semester at any time. In order to start your studies in October for the winter semester, your application must be received by May 15, for a start in April for the summer semester by November 15. If you are interested in a semester abroad at FH Wedel, please first contact the Erasmus+ coordinator at your university. Your contact will then contact the International Office of FH Wedel. We will then kindly ask you to fill in our application form and send it to FH Wedel by post together with an ID photo, your CV and an overview of your university's achievements. Your letter should also include a language certificate attesting a level of at least B2 in German or an equivalent level in English. We also require a proof of your health insurance.

On your arrival, we will put a student from the FH Wedel at your side via our Buddy programme. Your buddy will support you at the beginning of your everyday life in Wedel and will help you, for example, to fill in the required forms. Your buddy will give you insights into German culture and life and help you find your way around Wedel and Hamburg. In the week before the lecture begins, you participate in the Orientation Week, which is jointly organised by the General Student Committee AStA, the University Sports Association and the Wedel University of Applied Sciences. It is also important for you to know that exchange students at FH Wedel take part in a German language course. If you require information about visas, please contact the Federal Foreign Office.
