You can only apply for the Deutschlandsemesterticket once the following points have been met:

1. You no longer need to submit any documents relating to your application,
2. You have provided us with proof of your health insurance status, 
3. You have paid the student union fee,
4. You have paid the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket. Please find all payment information here.

If all points are fulfilled and checked, you can receive the Deutschlandsemesterticket. The ticket is valid from the start of each semester on April 1 or October 1. 

As soon as you are enrolled at the FH Wedel, the process becomes easier and you will receive an invoice every semester via our student portal “myCampus”. 

You will receive the ticket by download after paying the fee as described in the instructions. This link  can also be used instead of the QR code mentioned in the instructions.

If you receive a message that you are not authorized to download the ticket, there may be several reasons for this:

• You have not yet transferred the fees (in full) or your contribution could not be assigned to you. If you have not yet transferred the fee, please do so. Please also check whether your transfer details show the correct amount and transfer any missing balance. Another source of error could be an incorrect matriculation number - if this is the case, the contribution cannot be assigned to you. In this case, please contact us. If you have only recently made a transfer, please be patient - it usually takes 2-3 working days for the contribution to be posted to your account.
• There is a problem with your health insurance - this may be the reason, especially if you have just enrolled, as your health insurance company must notify FH Wedel of your insurance status in order for you to be finally enrolled. If you suspect that this might be the reason, please contact us and we will inform you about the next steps.
• There is a technical problem. If you suspect that this could be the reason, please contact the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV).

A printout or screenshot of the semester ticket is not recognized as a valid ticket. The semester ticket must be available on a digital device - i.e. a computer or smartphone.

The semester ticket is valid if the web application for the semester ticket or a wallet with the ticket is presented.

Apple users already have an Apple Wallet pre-installed. Google Wallet is recommended for Android users. In the app stores you will find other providers from which you can choose. 

Please note: The semester ticket is currently only available for digital devices (computers, smartphones, etc.). The Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) is currently working on a solution for special cases that are not able to use the semester ticket via digital devices.

You can be exempted from the semester ticket if one of the following reasons applies to you:

• Severe disability (only with certain characteristics - see below)
• leave of absence
• Staying abroad for at least three months

The list of reasons for exemption is exhaustive, i.e. exemption is not possible without one of the reasons listed.

Maximum duration of exemption that can be applied for:

• Severe disability: for the duration of the validity of the severely disabled person's ID card
• Leave of absence: for the duration of the approval of the leave of absence
• Stay abroad: for the duration of the stay according to the certificate
•  Ticket purchase at another university: 1 semester

Application deadlines:

For the winter semester by 30.11.
For the summer semester by 30.04.
Exceptions/extensions of the deadlines are not possible for contractual reasons.

If you exmatriculate, you can have the costs for your Deutschlandsemesterticket reimbursed pro rata for the remaining period of use on presentation of your certificate of exmatriculation. Please contact the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV), as they are responsible for reimbursement. Reimbursement via the FH Wedel is not possible.  

Please note: Reimbursement does not take place from the time of exmatriculation, but only from the time of contact.
